Teeth whitening are probably one of the most happening things right now; almost everyone is doing it!

We all want to flaunt a dazzling smile and teeth whitening are possibly one of the quickest and finest options for giving us that perfect look. Not only are these methods effective, but they can as well transform your look in total, thus giving you a brighter smile and an improved self-esteem.

The teeth whitening process involves bleaching actually, which is carried out by the typical peroxide ingredient contained in the products. The strength of these whitening products is totally dependent on the strength of this peroxide ingredient used. The percentage of the peroxide ingredients contained in the various teeth whitening products are usually 10%, 16% and the highest being 22%.

If you are also someone who has been considering teeth whitening, you must learn all about the teeth whitening facts from a dentist. As these whitening procedures can be harsh sometimes, you must have a healthy gum and teeth to go through the whole whitening procedure. Sometimes, the bleach can cause irritation as well.

There are various teeth whitening options available today and some of the most common ones are noted herein:

  • Teeth Whitening Strips:  These strips are available in almost every media store and are the best and the most convenient option for teeth whitening. These teeth whitening strips can be availed over-the-counter and are inexpensive as well. These can be used by anyone as well, without any foreign aid. However, this teeth whitening option takes longer time than usual to penetrate best results.

  • Teeth Whitening Gels and Trays: These are yet another effective teeth whitening solution, though it takes longer time to produce good results. These trays are worn by an individual for a few hours during the day or overnight as well, and could take minimum 3 days to a couple of week’s time.  There are two basic types of whitening trays and gels – the ones that the dentist recommends and the other that can be availed over-the-counter. The ones prescribed by the dentist are usually stronger and more effective than the over-the-counter ones. Also, the trays recommended by the dentist are made to fit well, unlike the over-the-counter ones.

  • Teeth Whitening Toothpastes: These toothpastes usually contain mild to moderate abrasives for removing surface stains. Some of these toothpastes do contain additional polishing agents and chemicals having greater effects against these stains than the usual toothpastes. However, these toothpastes cannot give a bleaching effect.

  • In-Office Bleaching Options: Undoubtedly the best option for teeth whitening. These in-office teeth whitening solutions provide quicker results in a very short span of time. The whole procedure takes just about an hour’s time.  Though expensive, but the effect is remarkable indeed.

  • Other Options for Teeth Whitening: You are likely to come across various teeth whitening products now including dental floss, whitening chewing gums and mouthwashes. As these products are new, very few evidences have been derived about their efficacy. But these are also popular and are being used by people all across the nation.
